About my FXD Dyna Super Glide

. Started this project in 2000 to make this bike look like it belonged back in the day. Loved the old shovels and pans they used to run. Started off by stripping all the molded chrome covers it had on it and replacing them with actual parts or parts I made. Had a vision in my mind of how I wanted it to sit and didn't fufill that until it became a rigid rear suspension using struts. I have Ceriani forks in front with some fork boot covers added for an older look. 21 " front and 16 " rear spoked wheels help it roll. The tank emblem is a classic emblem from around 1965. I put a new primary shaft in the transmission so I could use a kick start. Sure feels good when the bike fires up underneath you with a roar as you slam that kicker pedal down. Almost as good as, well you know. All work done myself. The only shop this bike has been in is my garage. Lots of fabrication and remodifications here. There is not alot out there in the way of parts to make a Dyna stand out as compared to what they offer for Softails. It has an evo 80 inch with Edelbrock 40 mm carb. Edelbrock pistons, heads and camshaft. The bike is fairly light and really screams. The Hypercharger gives it the air it needs while the Dyna 2000 ignition and Nology wires provide the spark. The thunder headers really Krackle and command attention. (no Horn needed}. In fact if you look close at the pic's you will see a liquor flask mounted where the horn used to be. I keep my octane in there so I always have it when I fill up with gas. Looks pretty cool too and adds to it's originality i think. Bullet turn signals in the rear with a badllands module that allows brake lights to run through the turn signals allowed me to remove the tailight from the rear fender and make and install a nice little emblem in it's place. I have bullets on the front as well for the turn signals. The seat is a La Rosa alligator skin Bobber style with 1 " springs. Rides nice as long as I keep the pressure in the rear tire at about 25 LBS. I picked up some alligator skin to match and stitched a buddy pad right into the rear fender.  Foot pegs are Old School FXR shakers. Grips are old style rubber type .All lines and cables are braided. 1 1/4 apes 12 inches high work perfect more me.I have the speedo mounted on the right side on the rocker cover along with the oil pressure gauge. It keeps the handlebar area real clean.I threw on a longer headlight to stretch this short bike out a little. It's all the little things man, they just all add up. Thanks for lookin

right on man.  That's bitchin.  What did you use for under the seat?  Did you mount it to the two posts that come up under the seat?  I've been in the same boat, going back and forth between struts or getting lowered shocks?  That's the question I keep asking myself.  If I go struts I want a spring seat, so I was wondering how you made the pan under the seat or how you mounted it?
