I've been riding for 40 years, but never had learned to do more than change the oil. I decided the best way to learn more, was to build my own bike. As a practicing Gynecologic Surgeon, I figured if I could put a body together, I should be able to build a bike. Using a 1983 Sportster XLH 1000 as my donor bike, I purchased a Carolina Custom Cycle Bobber frame, and new metal. It took me almost a year, and a good bit of help from friends with re-wiring, but I ended up with a sweet ride, that passed Nevada inspection with no problems. I learned a lot, and obtained a great deal of satisfaction, and mechanical confidence.
